Cable Theft
Don't let cable thieves cut you off!

Internet stopped working? Train late or delayed? It could be because of cable thieves.
We need your help in combating cable theft by reporting anything suspicious that you may see. Doncaster Council and South Yorkshire Police are on hand to check out anything that may be suspicious. If in doubt, report it – we can simply check if those involved are legitimate tradesmen or not.
Here are some things to look out for:
Cable thieves often operate at night. If you see an unmarked van parked up with people working in the road, report it.
Look out for work being carried out in streets by people not wearing hi-visibility vests and using unmarked vans, flatbed trucks or 4×4 vehicles.
If you see removed or disturbed cable box covers in the pavement or at the side of the road, report it.
If you see a manhole cover being removed at night, report it.
If you spot any site where there is unexpected evidence of cable in significant quantity, for example, around farms and local scrap dealers, let us know.
Look out for clouds of unusual thick black smoke particularly seen in rural areas or any indication of unusual burning activity taking place.
